Goldfish have no arms, of course, and their cracker incarnations don’t even have any fins. So how did this enterprising photographer recreate the classic “Holding Up Pisa” photo-op?

With the magic of Play-Doh, of course.

Pepperidge Farm World Treasures crackers are a goldfish mine for snack-based tourism dioramas. Other photo-ops include a cheddar Arc de Triomphe, the Taj Mahal and Big Ben. We thought we saw the Kremlin in the bag, too, but we’re not sure.

What do Israel and Uganda have in common?

Both have slyly transformed invisible geographical concepts into tourist attractions. For Israel to brag about the Dead Sea being the “Lowest Place on Earth” (1378 feet below Sea Level), it set up Sea Level markers for comparison.

For the record, Sushi is the same camel who offers tourists a complimentary drool shampoo.

For those of us who grew up with The Electric Company version of Spider-Man, this scene is particularly disturbing.

Spider-Man is supposed to save the world and correct harmful spelling mistakes. He is not the classless kind of guy who violates the nasal passages of innocent bystanders.

Then again, based on the endless abuse inflicted by tourists, maybe it’s time that the statues fight back!

Just like Spain’s strategic use of a “sorcerer” to put a hex on World Cup rival Portugal, Celtics fans believe rubbing the bronzed body of legendary coach Red Auerbach will boost their chances against the Lakers.

During the nailbiting NBA Finals, Boston fans have been flocking to the Faneuil Hall tourist trap to summon the spirit of the cigar-smoking Auerbach statue.  Talented photojournalist Matt Stone has documented the phenomenon with a Boston Herald slideshow.

Not so long ago, seeing a farm in America was a common occurrence. Now, at the Barefoot Landing tourist area, farmers are quaint fictional characters — like mermaids or circus strongmen.

Some tourists make trick photography — in this case the “forced perspective” illusion of holding an object — look really easy.  Take a look at the amazing poise and finesse displayed by this casual cliffwalker in Zion National Park and these architecture buffs at the Eiffel Tower.

But some tourists, such as Ankura, Andy and Debra, are still getting the hang of it.

MYSTERY PHOTO-OP -- Do you know where the Resnicks snapped these photos?

Their family vacation was only a year ago, but Rebecca and her brother Steven can’t remember exactly where they took these precious “Hole-in-the-Head” shots of Moses and a Crusader.

“We know it was somewhere in northern Israel, possibly in the Golan Heights area, but disagree on whether it was a historic site or just a rest stop,” Rebecca says. “Basically we both remember stopping for water, a packaged ice cream sandwich, watching a bad movie about something having to do with Moses, and then getting back in the car.”

“Fortunately, there were other parts of the trip that left a more lasting impression,” she adds.

Well, we’re intrigued.  Anyone out there know which historical rest stop shows B-movies about Moses AND sells ice cream sandwiches?
