OK, so you’re going to a concentration camp tomorrow and you have a fashion dilemma. What does one wear to a Nazi deathcamp?

You go with the tight miniskirt and high heels. Auschwitz is where all the cute guys hang out.

These tourists are at the concentration camp gallows for mass murderer Rudolph Hoess. Check out the relaxed pose of the chick in the green pants. She’s having a fabulous time.

According to the Auschwitz museum, Polish bystanders also had a fabulous time at the public executions of Nazi war criminals. Here’s what happened at the hanging of Nazi madman Arthur Greiser:

“Crowds of people watched his hanging on the slopes of the Citadel in Poznań. A picnic atmosphere prevailed, there were children among the observers, and vendors sold ice cream, soft drinks, and sweets. After the execution, people fought over pieces of the hangman’s rope.”

Upset at the cheesiness of the Greiser spectacle, Polish officials made the Hoess execution a private invitation-only affair. There likely was no ice cream — or miniskirts — at the gallows.

    Dear Anonymous:

    1. Of course we find no humor in this situation. That’s why we call it “tactless.” But it is newsworthy to point out that there are clueless tourists who make no distinction between fun travel spots and tragic historical sites — in this case, a mass murder site.

    2. As far as the execution in the black and white photo goes, this is the death penalty for a Nazi war criminal who oversaw the murders at this camp. This photo is provided for historical context.
