What’s the best way for a hipster backpacker to pose by the electrified deathcamp fence? Should he try to look mournful or should he go with a more casual crouch?

lol just clueless, not disrespectful… considering going to look around a place where loads of people were killed is just plain weird anyway!

Certainly, if you think it is “weird” to honor the memory of millions of murder victims, you shouldn’t be there either.

Neither. I can’t understand what the problem is. He’s not even smiling, touching the fence or be in any way disrespectful. He’s not clueless either, maybe it’s just his way of demonstrating he cares about that place. And I don’t think he’s “playfully posing”.
I’ve been to Auschwitz and seen a lot worse, things like parents visiting the camps with small children and letting them run and play there, or people walking on the railroad.
